I have about six new half-gallon and two old quart milk bottles that I love to use instead of the plastic bottles milk now comes in. So when I get home from the store, I take time to decant all the milk into these glass bottles and enjoy it from that. I can’t prove it, but I believe it makes the milk last longer; it certainly tastes better. While you can of course buy bottled milk, I think it’s better to do that once, keep the bottles and lose the deposit. It will save a lot of money.I also use the bottles for making a large amount of a smoothie and pouring it into the bottles. And this summer the bottles will also host my gazpacho, a summer soup I adore beyond measure instead of keeping it in tall pots where it takes up annoying amounts of room in the refrigerator. With these sturdy and long-lasting caps, I now have a ready supply of convenient and easy-to-store bottles for my liquids. I love that I was able to get these at a very reasonable cost so I can look forward to cleaner, neater, probably healthier and certainly more attractive containers in my refrigerator.

Great lids, reusable, easy pop on, easy pop off (use the tab). I wash these in the top rack of dishwasher and cycle them around on our 6 two qt. milk bottles. Love these lids, they don’t grow black mold like the metal screw on type. Glass milk bottle and sturdy plastic lid is much better than a nasty plastic gallon jug that’s been handled by who knows what!!!

Not giving it a 5 star just for one reason. Was hard to see in the description that these caps are used two different ways: the first is the initial snap on, for the first time using them. They will snugly fit over the bottle opening which is great, but are designed to have a peel bottom open system. Meaning for the first use you need to pull the pull tab at the bottom, ripping it off the cap, and peeling it off all around. This scared me because I thought that they were going to end up being usable just once. After using it the first time I rewashed the cap, let it dry, and then stored it near the bottles I had. I went back to use the bottle and the cap does snap back on; snug but not as snug as the initial use. Therefore for a multiple use don;t expect this to hold the liquid for the bottle in where you could be able to transport it and move it around a lot. Use it, it works fine if just putting the bottle in your fridge. If you have kids that might not understand how to get it on there snugly just be aware when you’re reaching back in the fridge to get it and use it that the top doesn’t pop off.

These caps fit perfectly on some pint and quart from the 1950s, including Sealtest. The caps seal well, but may not prevent leaks if bottle is stored on it’s side. Since I use mine for mostly dry storage, it works well. These are flexible plastic with a safety seal ring which can be removed or left in place. Dishwasher safe, in a cage that keeps them from being blown into the heat element in the bottom. IDK how long they will last, but they are inexpensive.
